How the cashless process works

The clinic's insurance team manages the paperwork between you and your insurer.

  3. Coverage is verifiedThe clinic's insurance team checks your policy against the recommended treatment.
  4. Pre-authorisation is submittedThe clinic submits the request to your insurer or third-party administrator on your behalf.
  5. ApprovalInsurers commonly respond within 24 to 48 hours, though the time taken is set by the insurer rather than the clinic.
  6. Treatment is scheduledSurgery is arranged once approval is confirmed.
  7. Co-payments and upgradesAny co-payment, or the difference on a premium lens, is settled directly with the clinic.
  8. The claim is settledThe approved amount is settled between the clinic and your insurer.
What is usually covered

What cashless usually covers, and what it usually does not

Standard monofocal intraocular lenses are typically covered under a cataract claim. Premium lens options, including multifocal, trifocal, extended depth of focus and toric lenses, commonly require a patient payment for the difference.

LASIK and ICL are generally treated as elective vision correction and are not routinely covered.

Coverage, cashless approval, waiting periods, exclusions and co-payment terms vary between insurers. Verify your specific benefits directly with your insurance provider.
